ABOUT Deep Creek HIGH School

In 1963, the Deep Creek High School became part of the newly formed Chesapeake School System, and with an increasing number of enrollees, there were few more constructions to house more students.

Over the years, the Deep Creek High School has used modern and efficient facilities such as academic classrooms, libraries, training areas, gymnasium, media center, and computer laboratory. More expansions took place to provide more spaces for different purposes, including putting up Math, Science, and Foreign Language departments and more classrooms for Science, Special Education, Vocational Programs, and Art classes.

In 2011, DCHS became a Science and Medicine Academy where students from Chesapeake can apply to pursue a career in medicine. It has a four-year program to equip students with lessons and real-world experience to gain knowledge and a similar environment to prepare them for college. Good thing that students can also earn college credits from an array of science and medical subjects.

It has been located in the independent city of Chesapeake in the South Hampton Roads region of Southeastern Virginia. It is a suburban community that still retains its original rural character. Deep Creek High School is surrounded by many establishments, including churches, recreation centers, and residential areas. According to Crime Grade, Deep Creek is a great place to live because it has 77th percentile for safety with a B+ grade which means that the crime rate is lower than the average city in the United States.
